Steam Trap Testing Rebates
It’s time to start testing steam traps as heating systems are turned on this month. Seasonal space heating steam traps can be tested from Sept. 15–March 31 when the outside temperature is 50° F or less. To qualify for the steam trap testing rebate, Trade Allies must be approved by the program as steam trap testers. If you are interested in taking advantage of the testing rebate and aren’t already an approved steam trap tester, check out the benefits of joining and contact us to request an application.
Boiler Tune-Up Rebates
As customers get ready for the heating season, you are likely to start getting many requests for boiler tune-ups. Make sure to offer your customers a rebate for this service—especially since the rebate could cover most of the cost. Here is what’s needed to qualify for a boiler tune-up rebate:

Signed application (PDF). Our team can assist with this.
- Boiler tune-up checklist (PDF).
- Pre and post combustion readings. It’s important that we see an increase in efficiency.
- Final invoice. If the rebate is going to you, the Trade Ally, we need to see that the rebate has been subtracted from your invoice.

2023 End-of-the-Year Submittal Dates
Start preparing for the end of the year by noting the following submittal deadline:
• For all Commercial and Multi-Family custom rebates you have reserved, please finalize all paperwork by Friday, Dec. 1, 2023.
• For all Commercial and Multi-Family prescriptive and partner rebates you have reserved, please finalize all paperwork by Friday, Dec. 8, 2023.
Measure of the Month: Steam Trap Monitoring
In 2023, Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas added steam trap monitoring as a prescriptive rebate, which can cover a significant portion of the project cost. Please reach out to us if you are interested in learning more.

Home Energy Rebate Program
We’re in the home stretch of 2023, and our Trade Allies are doing an amazing job providing high-efficiency equipment to our single-family customers. Our Home Energy Rebates offering provides rebates to customers and Trade Allies for installing high-efficiency furnaces, boilers, water heaters, programmable thermostats, and smart thermostats. With heating season on the way, we’ve already reached over 50% of our goal! Thank you for your partnership.
